CAD Plan Standardization Guide

Transform 2D plans into photorealistic renders in 15-60 seconds.

1. Architectural Layers (Mandatory)

Three layers that must exist in every plan file. All other layers must be made invisible (turned off).

[CRITICAL] Window Rules

  • Wall MUST be cut at every window location.
  • Two short perpendicular jamb lines required.
  • Do NOT place window symbols on unbroken walls - 3D will block light.

Window Tag and Dimensions

Every window must have a tag and dimensions nearby. Multiple windows in a row (e.g. 3 units of 120cm): W3 3x120/150. Do NOT use continuous ribbon windows.

Room Names (As Text)

Each room must have its name written inside as text (NOT as a layer name): LIVING, KITCHEN, BATHROOM, BEDROOM, OFFICE, ENTRY, HALL.

2. Interior Layers (Optional)

Add these layers if you want interior renders. Otherwise ONLY the architectural shell will be rendered.

Layers to Hide (Turn OFF)

  • × Axis / grid lines
  • × Dimension lines
  • × Text annotations (except room names)
  • × Hatching / fills
  • × Title block (if present)
  • × Detail callouts / annotations

Final Checklist

  • Only ONE floor remains (others invisible or deleted)
  • Walls cut at window positions (jamb lines present)
  • Each window tagged and dimensioned
  • Room names written as text
  • Axes, dimension, text, hatch layers turned OFF
  • PDF exported as vector (not raster)
